Anonymous recruitment for job seekers

SKILLS ARE WHAT MATTER

Amelie Care focuses on what's essential: your professional skills and your attitude. We use anonymous recruitment to ensure equality, quality, and fairness.

What is anonymous recruitment and why do we use it?

No name, age, or gender: In the first stage, we evaluate only your expertise.

Skills decide: Selection is based purely on education and work experience.

Equality: Every applicant starts on a level playing field, regardless of their background.

Anonymity protects against unconscious bias and ensures that the recruitment process is as fair and professional-focused as possible.

How the process works:

Apply without a CV: Do not send emails or PDF files. Simply fill out the anonymous application form on our Jobs page.

Assessment of expertise: We value a high-quality educational background, whether obtained in Finland or internationally (e.g., degrees in early childhood education, social and health care, or other applicable fields). We also emphasize solid work experience, references, and practical skills.

Remote interview: Potential candidates will be invited to a remote interview. As we recruit for international families, some questions will be asked in English. We do not require perfect grammar.

Document verification: We check degree certificates, criminal record extracts (an English-language extract for international roles), First Aid (EA1) cards, and driver's licenses during the interview stage.

Introduction to the family: Your name will be revealed to the family only after your professional suitability has been confirmed.

Why apply through us?

Recognition: Finnish expertise is highly valued worldwide.

Stability: We only recruit for households that commit to a minimum of 6 months of employment. We do not handle au pair placements.

Direct employment: The applicant signs a contract directly with the family – we are here to support you throughout the process.

A real opportunity: We don't collect massive CV databases or applicant registries just to let them gather dust. When we open a vacancy, it is always for a real, active position where we are looking for the the most suitable employee.

While large high-volume agencies often rely on automation, we offer a different approach: we are committed to treating every applicant as an individual, communicating transparently, and always responding to everyone personally.

CHECKLIST:

USE THE APPLICATION FORM: Do not send your CV by email. Only fill out the application form found on the Jobs page.

DOCUMENTS: Ensure you have your degree certificates and other credentials ready in digital format (as PDF files). Or clear, readable photos of your documents work perfectly too. For international applications, you can order the required English-language criminal record extract from the Legal Register Centre (ORK).

A FAIR PROCESS: Recruitment takes several weeks. We take into account the applicant's life situation, potential notice periods, and relocation arrangements.

PROFESSIONAL STRENGTHS: Feel free to share your pedagogical expertise and professional strengths boldly on the form.

FAQ for Job Seekers

1. Why must I commit to a contract of at least 6 months?

We value your professionalism and want to offer you stability. A longer contract allows for a true international life experience, full immersion into the language and culture, and the opportunity to build lasting friendships. Most importantly, it is in the best interest of the child's well-being.

2. What if I'm nervous about speaking English?

That is completely normal! The most important thing is a genuine desire to connect with children and the courage to communicate. Language skills grow incredibly fast in everyday situations—while playing with the kids or meeting other nannies. Families value your warmth and professionalism far more than perfect grammar. With children, body language, facial expressions, and doing things together often communicate more than words ever could. Don't be afraid to make mistakes—that's how you learn best, and children are the most wonderful and forgiving teachers in the world.

3. How are my working hours and holidays determined?

Working hours and holidays are agreed upon directly in the employment contract between the family and the employee.

Our role: As a recruitment agency, we can only provide recommendations. We recommend responsible working hours (max. 48 hours/week) and regular holidays so that you can visit your home country and rest.

Your responsibility: The contract is legally binding for both parties. Therefore, please read all sections of the employment contract carefully before signing, so you know exactly what terms you are committing to.

Your well-being is a prerequisite for a successful employment relationship.

4. What are the living arrangements, and will I have my own privacy?

Accommodation depends on whether the position is Live-in or Live-out:

Live-in: You will live within the family home. This always includes your own private, lockable bedroom, a bathroom/WC, and meals. We explicitly advise all families to respect your privacy and treat your room as your own personal space.

Live-out: You will live in your own private accommodation outside the family home and arrive at the workplace according to the agreed working hours.

5. What support will I receive if I experience homesickness or challenges in a new country?

You can contact us with a low threshold if you have any concerns or need advice on settling into your new daily life. We encourage you to be proactive, and we can recommend the most common channels for finding local hobbies or connecting with other international professionals.

We act as a link through which the people employed through us can find one another. We maintain a WhatsApp group for those relocating, and joining as well as staying in the group is completely voluntary – you decide whether you want to participate. However, the group is a great and easy channel for finding peer support and networking with others in the same situation.

If challenges arise in your daily life that require outside professional support, we will gladly refer you to an online psychologist within our network. You can arrange a consultation (in Finnish or English) directly with them at your own expense.

6. Does it cost anything to apply, and is it worth applying if I'm unsure about my suitability?

Applying is completely free of charge. Unlike many other agencies, we do not require registration or maintain a CV database, so it is always worth applying—even if you feel slightly uncertain. Since you cannot know the backgrounds of other applicants, you shouldn't be too self-critical about your own qualifications beforehand.

We have made the process as simple as possible: just follow our "JOBS" page and answer the specific questions provided for each role. You will move forward in the process based on your answers, education, and how well you meet the criteria for that specific position. With us, every application is a fresh opportunity without any commitment to long-term registers.
